Dating Christian Women - Introduction - Why Is It So Hard?
When does the actual dating process with a women begin? While many others may differ, in my personal opinion, it is the moment of meeting the girl to what use to be called, "going steady." This is when the two people mutually decide to only see each other.
The reason I write this is because there is a difference between getting a girl and being in an already established relationship. Until the man and woman make the decision to see only each other, there is a lot of mystery with what the man is suppose to do. Many men figure they are suppose to do the same thing as they would in an already established relationship but, in fact, God did not design it that way.
Many men forget about what is called the dating process. If you look around at material, the dating process is almost completely ignored, while relationship material is plentiful.
--
Why is there a shortage of material on the dating process, especially within the Christian community?
Not completely sure, but there are some books which do cover the topic of dating Christian women. I Kissed Dating Goodbye by Joshua Harris is a great book, and unlike the title, it is actually not a complete call of Christians to not date, but to put the focus of the relationship on God and to put the biblical example of marriage at the center. On one of his most important points, he writes that we should move past selfish personal reasons for dating. The book does help somewhat, but it does not focus on what to do when we are getting to know a girl and slowly moving the dating process forward.
Lets take a look at another book: When God Writes Your Love Story: The Ultimate Approach to Guy/Girl Relationships by Eric and Leslie Ludy. This is another great book, and starts to touch on dating women, writing that a man should first focus on God, fix his own life, and become a better, more complete man, but it does not help with the dating process. There are more books, but we will leave it with these two right now.
We need to become better men. Both of the books, while not helping with the dating process, write that God needs to be the center of your life, and you need to fix yourself, but what do we do with that? We become a better person, suitable for a women of God, but unless you know how to act and what to do, women will probably stay away from you. They will not be interested in you, which will cause a lot of unnecessarily rejection and hurt.
It's okay though, I didn't know what to do for the longest time either!

Freedom to Make Choices - 049
Have you ever had a vegetable or flower garden? Isn't it amazing to watch a seed germinate and grow into a plant and bear fruit to eat or flowers to enjoy? My mother and father always had a vegetable garden. My brother and I would often complain about having to help dad dig up the potatoes, but we were always piling them on our plates at dinnertime. Some of the best food I ever had was grown in my own yard.
What does it take to grow a tomato, ear of corn or carrot? Such diversity of foods, yet they are all very edible and tasty. In Matthew 13:1-23; Mark 4:1-20 and Luke 8:4-15, Jesus shares a parable with His Apostles and teaches them how to apply the lesson. He's talking to us about the freedom of making choices!
Preparing to Teach - Matthew 13:1-3; Mark 4:1; Luke 8:4
Choose an environment that is conducive to communication and learning. Choose a teaching style that works for you in that situation. Jesus frequently used parables to communicate God's truths.
Making Choices - Good Seed, Same Soil, Different Results - Matthew 13:4-9; Mark 4:2-9; Luke 8:5-8
The farmer sows the same seed in four different locations. The soil is the same also, but there are other factors that determine the effectiveness of the seed's productivity. In this parable, you are the farmer. Where you sow your seed is based on the choices you make.
How to Teach Effectively - Matthew 13:10-17; Mark 4:10-12; Luke 8:9-10
In introduction to this parable, the Apostles ask Jesus why He teaches in parables. There are some things that God wants us to figure out for ourselves and there are some things that He wants us to simply believe in Him and trust Him for the details.
Choices - Apply the Lesson - Matthew 13:18-23; Mark 4:13-20; Luke 8:11-15
Hard ground is like a person who chooses to not go to church, read their Bible, read this devotion or be around Christians because they don't want to be a Christian. They choose to be hard and the seed can't get in to sink roots and push a crop up to the benefit of others. Maybe they have had a bad experience in a church when they were younger. Maybe they have only heard bad things said about Christians and never known someone who was a Christian and could help them see the fruit that Jesus produces in us. If you encounter someone like this, don't waist your seed on that person. They are choosing to be hard soil. Look for better "soil".
The ground with rocks is like someone who chooses to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, but seldom go to church, don't read their Bible, pray, worship, give, etc. They have a belief in Jesus in their heads a little, but they are not letting Him into their hearts. They are so busy with their work, hobbies, watching sports or doing everything else than to choose to have time for God. They may claim to believe in Jesus, but they are choosing not to produce any Christian fruit and will soon be totally back "in the world". You might try to help them remove some of the "rocks" in their soil so Jesus can take root and grow. However, if they don't choose to remove those rocks, they will never grow and bear any fruit.
The ground with the weeds is like someone who accepts Jesus, but while they are going to church, they are still choosing to watch shows on television that dishonor God, marriage and the family. Many are choosing to look at pornography, have sex outside of marriage, go to parties and get drunk, us drugs, break the law, etc. Soon, the pursuits of this world will choke what little influence the Church is having on them and they will likewise be lost. They will choose to give in to peer pressure and the temporary pleasures of this world without thinking about what kind of fruit they could be producing for God. Your best hope is to get them to choose to pull the weeds up and get rid of them so Jesus can have the nourishment He needs to change their lives and produce Godly fruit.
The good soil is like those of us who have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We are choosing to learn more about Jesus and bear fruit for Him (See Galatians 5:22-23). We choose to worship, pray, give, help others, share our faith and the hope of heaven with those who are not Christians. We choose to be active in our relationship with Jesus and want to nourish that relationship so it will bear much fruit for His Kingdom. We aren't "religious" or "in your face", but we are not secretive about our faith in God either. We choose to practice what we believe!
The Word of God is the seed! You are the soil (and the sower)! You get to choose what kind of soil you are going to be! What are you doing to yourself to help the seed to grow or die? Are you choosing to be soil that is packed hard and resistant to anyone telling you anything new, different or better? Are you choosing to engaging in sinful activities that compete for the nourishment that the seed needs before it can get enough roots to grow? Are you still choosing to look at pornography, sit-coms on the television, or spending time gambling, going to bars and parties where ungodly things go on? Are you choosing to clutter your soil with obstacles that will hinder the seed from growing? Are things like a job, hobby, friends more important to you than your relationship with God? Or are you going to choose to get rid of the rocks, loosen up your soil, remove the weeds so God's seed can take root and produce His fruit in you?
It is your choice. Jesus is the seed! You are the soil! You have the freedom to choose. What kind of life are you going to produce for God?
God bless you and have a great week!

Real Christian Statistics About Divorce
I'm not talking about all the other gods from all the other religions, I'm going to talk about the god or gods of Christianity. Whether you're going to look at one God who has two other gods, the Holy Spirit and Jesus, or whether you're going to look at one God.., I'd better stop before I even get confused.
All this God stuff gets kind of confusing sometimes. Anyway, if God designed marriage to be permanent, and you truly believed this, let's take a look at some statistics. I'm not going to refer to any government statistics, Christian statistics, atheists statistics or any other organized entity that produces information, that might or might not be correct.
I'm going to select 10 people that I know, are Christians and see what I actually come up with. Let's start with all the people that I know who never got divorced. Both of my grandparents, my aunt and uncle, my sister and three of my cousins. If I do my math right, that's six Christian families who haven't got divorced yet.
Now let's look at the people who I know that are Christians and have been divorced. I will also list how many times they have been married. My father is on his third marriage, one of my uncles was married three times and wouldn't get married again, my brother, and my friend. That's four for the nonbelievers.
Unless we add up how many times each one of them had been married. You're going to be shocked, but between these four people, they had been married 10 times. Each one of them was married in a Christian church and I would consider them Christians.
Individually, 60% of all Christian marriages stay together, but if I combine the amount of marriages that each one of these people had, the Christian marriages that had weathered the storm and were still married, would be a 37%. That's one out of every three people, who gets married and are Christians, end up in divorce.
The next time that someone gives you a statistic about marriage, you should understand that these numbers can be manipulated and usually are.

Christian Service Or Christian Serving - Which One Are You Concerned About Most?
I have learned that there are many nice, well meaning Christians that consistently focus on the wrong things. As believers, we should try to model our lives after Jesus Christ. Somehow, that premise gets lost when it is mixed with all of our own ideals and desires. Christian services are what people have on Sunday morning at church. Christian serving is what Jesus is calling us to do.
Matthew 20:28 clearly tells us that Jesus came to serve and not be served. Many of us have completely overlooked this element of the life of Jesus.
Church Services
Every Sunday millions of people place a very heavy effort on Sunday services. Even before Sunday comes there are hours of preparation done by choirs, praise teams, hospitality staff, ministers, etc. There are people who agonize over every little detail of the service. For many people, Sunday is the culmination of their entire week.
What goes on during the rest of the week? I don't know about you, but my life as a Christian is far greater than what goes on during Sunday service. There is a whole world out there that we have all been called to engage in. Unfortunately, many of us forsake the rest of the world and reserve our Christianity for the four walls of a church.
The Modern Minister
We are in an age where there are some wonderful men and women ministering the Gospel around the globe. We see them on TV, in magazines and online. Unfortunately, there are some "diva" ministers around the world. I have witnessed ministers who give off the aura as if they are God's gift to the congregation. They give the impression as if the congregation is there to serve them as opposed to the other way around.
There are some things that just bother me:
- I get bothered when I go to a church and it looks like the pastor's chair is worth more than the church building.
- I get bothered when I see ministers that consistently "don't have time" to talk to people one-on-one.
- I get bothered when I hear ministers talk about what they have done, rather than what God has done.
- I get bothered when ministers feel like they need to make a grand entrance in the service that includes a grand announcement and people standing up.
This is just a short list. Believe me, I could go on.
Why are so many ministers looking to see what they can get out of ministry? Call me crazy or old fashioned, but as believers our goal should be to love God and serve people. We shouldn't love God and look for other people to serve us.

Unschooling Equals Natural Learning
How do you learn something in your post high school/post college life? If you sit down and think about it for awhile, you will probably discover that you pursue things you are interested in or that will help you in your life's direction. If you really think about it, you will notice that you don't really waste any time on things that don't interest you or that have no value to you. You will notice that pursuing these things are easy and enjoyable and that you sometimes you "loose track of time" when you are absorbed in pursuing these interests.
In effect, you are "schooling" yourself without anyone telling you what to do, or why you should do it, or for how long. In home education circles, this is called unschooling and it is applied to school aged children.
There are many misconceptions about unschooling. Many people think that unschooled children have no structure to their lives and that they sit around all day doing mindless things (usually visions of gameboy, X-box, TV, and movies come to mind). If you will do just a little research, however, you will find that this is simply not true. Parents who adhere to the unschooling methods do not just abdicate their responsibility in guiding their children's education, they just go about it a different way than is generally accepted by the masses.
The hardest part of unschooling is the change it requires in the minds parents. Mom and Dad have to start looking at education in a more holistic way. Everything in life becomes a learning experience, i.e. a trip to the grocery store becomes a lesson in math, consumerism, marketing, etc. Unschooling requires parents to think about education in a whole new way, the way you wish you had been allowed to learn...following your interests with no limits of time, space and age.
The role that unschooling parents play in their child's education is the role of facilitator not teacher. SHOCK! I know but that's because of our preconceived ideas about schooling, how children learn, and our whole role in it. This is not to say that a parent never "teaches" a child anything. The parent just chooses to do it in a way that follows a child's natural desire to learn. In our traditional thinking, a teacher chooses what a child need to know and when and then comes up with a plan to make sure it happens. I know, you are thinking that this doesn't sound too bad and you are right only the difference is in the method of application. In traditional schooling, the child if forced to learn things at a certain time...no matter what their interest or ability. With unschooling, the parent facilitator/teacher takes notice of what the child is interested in and provides them with the tools to make learning possible without an agenda. The parent usually has in mind things the child need to learn to function in society, they just don't stress about timetables and they find ways to intertwine the necessary learning of life into whatever the child is pursuing. Often times, the parent will see that the necessary things are usually learned by the child without much "pushing".
Most parents start homeschooling because they want to foster the creativity and curiosity they see in their child in a natural way. Most times, however, parents get bogged down by the pressure they feel to educate by the prescribed methods that the school system has invented to teach the masses.
Unschooling frees your child to love the process of learning because they are truly interested in what they are doing and are allowed the time to explore. They get to learn what they are interested in at the time they are interested in it. Parents facilitate, teach and guide as their child learns at their own pace...the way you choose to learn things yourself.

Tap Into the Power of Jesus
Why do people worship a celebrity? What is it about an entertainer, athlete, government official or corporate figurehead that people will seek after them and "worship" them and what they represent? Is it that we are looking for someone who can lead us out of the pains of our life and give us joy? Are we hoping that by being in their presence we might get some (monetary) gift from them or become successful like them? Maybe we are hoping they will offer us a good paying job or the opportunity to work with them in what they are doing. What can any other human do for you that is as lasting as what Jesus has already done for you?
In Matthew 21:9-11; Mark 11:9-11; Luke 19: 37-44; John 12:13, 19, Jesus continues His inaugural journey into Jerusalem in a manner of a King coming into His Kingdom. He is fulfilling a prophecy from the Old Testament. The crowds greet Him while the Pharisees try to silence this worship. What is this POWER that Jesus has over people? Why are they following and worshiping Him?
People Recognize Jesus' Power - Matthew 21:9; Mark 11:9-10; Luke 19:37-38; John 12:13
Jesus has come down from the Mount of Olives into the Kidron Valley and is now ascending to the gates of Jerusalem. The crowds that followed Him out of Bethany and down the hill are increasing and their praise is getting louder. Some lead the way with palm branches while others follow with praise. They clearly are declaring Him as their King. It is a joyful event. What are they seeking? What are they expecting from Jesus? Do they expect Him to relieve them from the Roman oppression? (How about them being relieved from the oppression of their sin?)
Even today, people are hungry for strong leadership and it can be hard to find. The Pharisees try to control the people, as do the Priests, but they meet with more resistance than cooperation. Most people don't want to be controlled, but guided. Jesus' leadership is far above and beyond what anyone else could ever do. The people do not resist Him, but seek Him out as their King because they believe that He has the power that is needed to make their lives better. Is there any reason why you should not seek to worship Him as much as these people do? How much do you recognize and seek the power of Jesus?
No One Controls Jesus - Luke 19:34-40; John 12:19
The Pharisees are not wrong in trying to get Jesus to silence the crowd because if Jesus is not who He claims to be, this worship would be wrong. However, Jesus is God's Son, the King of the Jews and the people are right in acknowledging Him as Lord and Messiah. Jesus is so great and His power is so strong that even the stones would worship Him if the crowd did not.
No matter whom you are or what you do, there are going to be people who are going to oppose you. If you do evil things, your opponents will be the police and law abiding citizens. If you proclaim the Gospel, your opposition will come from those who hate Jesus, hate Christians and/or are totally ignorant to the grace of God's salvation and the love He has for them. It is important for us to examine ourselves to see that we are truly on God's side and not among those who are hindering the advancement of the Gospel of salvation. Are you truly promoting Jesus or are you trying to force your version of religion on others? Jesus is in control, not you or me, and we must constantly examine our motives to see that we are in harmony with Him.
Jesus Doesn't Like to See Sin - Luke 19:41-44
Jesus arrives in Jerusalem. It is late in the day, so He only makes a brief comment before leaving. His words are words of sadness because He sees the sin that they do not see. He desires to bring them to repentance, but they are not willing to acknowledge their sin and the need for a Savior. Since they can't see what they are doing to themselves, they do not see that they are going to be responsible for destroying Jerusalem. Their sin will fall back on them and the city will be totally torn down and destroyed.
Sin is rebellion against God. When we sin, it hurts us and it hurts those around us who are impacted by our lives. Although these Jews don't realize it yet, Jesus came to die for our sins. He knows how destructive sin is. When you engage in activities or thoughts that you know are not pleasing to God, you hurt Him because He loves you and He wants His best for you. You also hurt others around you who are affected by your selfishness. The problem is that sin hinders God's work in your life. If you love Him, repentance and avoiding sin is of the greatest importance.
Jesus Affects His Surroundings - Matthew 21:10-11; Mark 11:11
Jesus' affect on the city is that everyone in town is feeling the power of His presence. Though many may not be where they can see Him, they are aware of His presence. The entire city is stirred by His presence. It seems that some still do not know who He is, but they are feeling His presence just as much as everyone else.
Have you ever noticed a "change" in the ambiance when you enter a church or place where a Christian event is coming or in progress? This is the Holy Spirit's covering that goes wherever the Gospel goes. It has a power that only Jesus can give. The presence of a church in the neighborhood lessens crime, builds stronger marriages, blesses those who come and worship. Are you bringing the presence of Jesus into your home, workplace and surroundings or are you hiding it lest someone else find out that you are a Christian?
God bless you and have a great week!

College Degrees - Earn Your Degree Online
An Online college degree is popular among college students these days. In the past few years, universities and colleges decide to make course material that will be free online. An online college degree is where you study on the Internet. There are many instructors that will teach you the curriculum of the course you have. This is a great advantage for those who want to earn their degree without going to the school. They also have exams that you should pass, assignments and projects that need to be submitted online and classes that you should attend. Many universities and institutions offer online college degrees.
There are some schools and colleges that offer online college degrees. And some world-class institution even offer them for free. Colleges that offer online college degrees that are free are Yale, University of California-Berkeley, Utah State, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Utah Valley State College, Tufts, Open Uni in United Kingdom, Stanford, Gresham College, University of Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Carnegie Mellon, Berklee College of Music, University of Washington, New York, and Johns Hopkins.
There are still several drawbacks to colleges that offer free degrees. Some courses may require a book that is not for free. That means you need to buy the book if you want to understand the overall subject and meaning of the course. Another thing is there are some courses that have at least six to ten pages that you can study on and a multiple choice test will follow. It is very different from the colleges that offer traditional online degree.
There are also other varieties of colleges that offer degrees online. University of Phoenix also offers them for students. Online CEU Courses
As the economy continues to face many different headwinds, countless numbers of people are turning to online CEU courses as a way to be able to update their credentials and in some cases they are even using this as an opportunity to give them more education in a very competitive job market. Just a few years ago it use to be that the only way to take CEU courses was to fill out the pamphlet that the local college or university would send you in the mail, then go down to the college to be able to take the classes you have signed up for. Now the internet has allowed many different colleges and universities to be able to provide you with high quality Internet-based CEU courses right from the comfort of your own home. This gives anyone who has a desire to be successful a chance to receive the education they need to get that promotion or find a new career that they are looking for in addition online CEU course offer you many other advantages such as:
They are cheaper than traditional college courses: Today there are many different courses that you can take online. Some of the courses are for personal development while others can count towards receiving your degree or certificate. In many cases the fees for taking an Internet-based CEU course is just a fraction of what traditional college courses cost and in some cases the courses for personal development are free.
You don't have to spend extra time and money to go to class: A major drawback of taking traditional college classes is that you have to spend extra time driving to class, sitting in traffic and parking. Once you are in class the overall amount of learning effectiveness comes down because you have to deal with the different outside distractions before and after class. By taking CEU courses online you are increasing the overall amount of learning by not having to deal with these different aggravations which take place before and after class.
You can earn a wide variety of degrees and certifications: With online CEU courses you can earn a wide variety of degrees such as your associate degree, bachelor's degree, masters' degree and your doctoral degree in many different programs. In addition you can also be able to obtain a specialized designation or certificate very easily.
Even with the economy continuing to face many different challenges you can be able to achieve the level of education that you are looking for at an affordable price through CEU courses online. Some of the many different benefits that they offer include: they are cheaper than traditional college courses, you don't have to spend extra time or money to go to class and you have a wide variety of degrees or certifications to choose from. This will help you be able to take advantage of the tough economic conditions to be able to make yourself more marketable in a very tough job market.

The Christian's Money and the Bible
Many Bible teachers and preachers know that God does not require tithing from Christians. They also know this "new teaching" of today - that many call "the tithe" - is a man made invention. Yet, ... they still call for at least 10% of one's gross earnings to go to the local church for life. The reasoning (with a few minor alterations) goes something like this:
"While we do not believe a Christian is under Old Testament Law, we do believe 10% is a good baseline for giving - specifically to support the local church. We want Christians to be faithful to God with their finances and yet still be responsible to their families as well. Anyone who spends time bashing the tithe needs to consider Abraham's and Jacob's pre-Law tithe, too."
The reasoning above contains at least three huge errors concerning a Christian's money and God's teaching and expectation on this subject. Can you pinpoint them?
Error One: "10% is a good baseline for giving ..."
Boy, what a deal. The only problem ... God is not interested in this "deal." While each Christian has full control over his/her money at all times (Peter stated that to the lying Ananias just before his demise [Ac 5:4]), God has full rights to everything in the Christian's hands. In fact, He has "double rights" - Creation Rights and Redemption Rights. As Creator: "Whatever is under the whole heaven is Mine" (Job 41:11). As Redeemer: "You have been bought with a price" (1Cor 6:20) - the blood of Christ. A Christian's responsibility is to discern, as he/she moves through life, what He wants us to do with what is His. If there is some kind of baseline, it starts at ... 100%.
Error Two: "We want Christians to be faithful to God with their finances and yet still be responsible to their families as well."
This comes from Bible folklore that goes something like this: "God is first, family is second, job is third, ..." and on down the line. This pits "faithfulness to God" and "responsibility to family" as competing interests. Ever heard of "Corban"? (Mk 7:11). When discussing the pressing matter of the care of widows, Paul made a remarkable assertion that goes to the heart of the Christian's responsibility with money. "But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever" (1Tim 5:8). This is an incredible verse, men. God's first financial order is ... family provision. Anyone who fails in this financial ministry has "has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."
I can not think of a more dire consequence for any transgression anywhere in the Bible. This rivals blaspheming the Holy Spirit (Lk 12:10). It is only by faith that anyone stands. And failure to provide for one's own (even beyond the immediate family) is denial of the faith. That is eternal trouble. But, the warning does not end there. The non-provider ... is worse than an unbeliever! "But the unbelieving ... their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone" (Rev 21:8). You know, Bible folklore may say your occupation is number three on the list (or four, or five, or whatever is the current fad), but God doesn't. In fact, you may need to secure a second job so you can meet the first priority of your financial ministry - and thus, be faithful to God. Once that ministry is under control, then God may call you to other fields.
Error Three: "... bashing the tithe"
Anyone who bashes the tithe is not a legitimate teacher of the Bible. If you find anyone doing this, walk away from that false message/messenger. The tithe was invented by God and is a tremendous teaching. I believe in the tithe - and fully teach, and support it. In fact, it is quite likely that any tithe-basher will be bashed by the God of the tithe. Similarly, that same God will bash those who hijacked the word, "tithe" - and placed it on this "new teaching" in Christendom calling it, "the tithe." I bash, and will continue to bash, this unholy concoction. It is extortion in the Name of Jesus Christ. If you find anyone calling the tithe, "ten percent of your gross income required to the local church (or anywhere) for life," walk away from that false message/messenger, too. This is either "doctrines of demons" (1Tim 4:1), or has been penned by flesh. I intend on bashing the life out of this fabrication, but, in reality, that is impossible. It has no life. God retired the tithe when He ripped the veil of the Temple from top to bottom (Mt 27:51).
Many, who know there is no tithe for the Christian, still can not fully repent of this extortion. They replace God's Word with seemingly pious "Biblical principles." Most "Biblical principles" are teachings (or practices) void of clear scripture - yet, religious people want to establish some pet belief as though it has authority from God. In this case, Abraham and Jacob are heralded as pre-Law examples of tithing. But Abraham's one-time gift to Melchizedek was only 10% of the choicest spoils - from a bunch of stuff he wasn't going to keep anyway! (Heb 6:4 and Gen 14:17-24). And he did not go home and get 10% of his own things and give it to Melchizedek ... and not every week for life either. All that is left out of the "Biblical principle." As far as Jacob is concerned - that one time gift was a vow fulfillment - dependent upon God meeting at least five conditions. If God did not meet all five - the deal was off. Again, these little facts (which constitute the heart of this deal) are somehow missed in the "Biblical principle" of tithing. But the argument continues. "Ten percent giving was clearly required under The Law (some say up to 30%), and now, as Grace exceeds Law, God expects at least 10% from the Christian 'as the baseline for giving.'" Somehow, ... The Jerusalem Council missed this (Acts 15), as well as all the New Testament writers - including the One who inspired them.
So, here are the real principles for the Christian and his/her money.
First: The Christian must take care of all personal responsibilities. This is God's first demand. Christians in affluent societies must discern the difference between a need - and a want. These lines easily blur.
Second: The Christian is not to be in debt. "Owe nothing to anyone ... " (Ro 13:8). If real assets exceed debt, then God may not consider that one to be in debt. To owe 100K on a home, that would sell for more (thus, be in the black), God may see as investing in an appreciating asset. But, if possible, pay everything off. Personally, I have no debt. I want all my brethren to be able to experience this. Other needs are easier to fund (health insurance, house insurance, etc.), taxes are less of a burden, emergencies are easier to weather, and economic downturns are not as big a threat. The wolf ... is further from the door. In fact, I instruct potential donors to my website to take what they want to send me and apply it directly to their debts (if any). That is the best financial blessing my brethren could give me. This is one instance I believe Paul's admonition to his Corinthian brethren strikes a parallel. A famine had been raging in Israel. Christians in Antioch "in proportion that any of the disciples had means, each of them determined to send a contribution for the relief of the brethren living in Judea. And this they did ..." (Ac 11:29,30). But, to some in Corinth who "lacked means," (i.e., were scrapping to fulfill God's first requisite of family), Paul said, "if the readiness is present (the desire to give), it is acceptable, according to what a man has, not according to what he does not have" (2Cor 8:12). Wow! This is a time ... when the thought does count!
Third: If we sow sparingly, we will reap sparingly. Conversely, if we sow bountifully, we will reap bountifully. "Let each one do just as he has purposed in his heart; not grudgingly or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver" (2Cor 9:6-7). Additionally, "let our people also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, that they may not be unfruitful" (Tit 3:14). Giving is a learned activity based upon personal judgment, personal evaluation, and personal volition. A Christian is to invest in things he/she discerns to be true Kingdom expanding work.
Fourth: As much as possible, give "in secret" (Mt 6:4). This is a true act of faith - believing God sees, knows ... and will reward.
Conclusion
After you have fulfilled your first financial calling (immediate household and legitimately needy extended family members), then you can branch out. Who knows - God may want you to invest 50% in your local church. Or, He may direct investments into a Children's Home, Street Gospel Mission, or Christian Drug Rehabilitation program. You decide - before Him - how much to invest, where to invest, when to invest ... and if you continue to invest.
I know that I replaced the word, "give" with "invest." But, in this case, they are synonyms. Giving to God's true agenda (and we need wisdom from Him on this) is actually an investment - with Judgment Day the maturity date. That is not really ... that far off.

Are There Any Benefits to Choosing Organic Coffee?
Most coffee lovers when presented with so many different blends to choose from don't usually question the origins of their favorite beverage or what is the environmental impact of their favorite brew. But today there is a growing awareness of the need to protect natural resources as much as possible. Because of this awareness more and more coffee companies are offering organic blends in part to lessen their impact on the environment and in part to capitalize on the organic craze and meet market demands.
Why Organic
Because coffee is grown so far away from it's end user, most people don't know that one of the by products of coffee production is a large quantity of pesticides. The coffee plants are "protected" by very strong pesticides and these pesticides then leach into the ground water and surrounding soils. These strong pesticides kill off plant and animal life. After harvesting the coffee beans are treated with even more chemicals during processing.
Organic coffee is grown differently. The coffee producers don't treat the plants with chemicals. They are grown under the shade of indigenous trees that provide homes for the local birds and other small animals. These birds then in turn eliminate the need for pesticides by feasting on the bugs that the pesticides would kill. By purchasing organic coffee you can do your part providing habitat for birds and animals that would otherwise not have a home.
Surprisingly, organic coffee is not priced so high that the average person can't afford it like so many other organic products. The majority of coffee producers offer organic blends from the milder breakfast blends to the richer, darker dessert blends at an affordable price, which is in reach for most of their customers.
Organic coffee is available to purchase at most local grocery stores. Local health food stores have had organically grown coffee for several years, but now it is readily available at the supermarket. Almost every major producer has an organic, so there shouldn't be a problem in finding an organic alternative to fit your tastes perfectly. If you are a coffee lover already then you can do your part to help the environment by switching to organic coffee today. If you aren't a coffee lover you can buy your coffee loving friends organically grown coffee and help out the environment at the same time.

Thoughts on Homosexuality from a Christian
What about civil rights for Gays in all areas of life? It is said "You should condemn the sin, but not the sinner", but it is so hard to do for so many Christians who consider homosexuality a sin. But this is exactly what we, as Christians, should do, because after all, a homosexual is still a Child of God. And supporting civil rights for Gays does not mean condoning homosexuality. So civil rights for Gays in all areas of life ahould always be supported by Christians, except perhaps when you're choosing religious leaders who openly believe homosexuality not to be a sin. And on a personal note, even if you sre sexually approached by a Gay, you can just say "No thanks", if it's not your predilection. I did this 3 times during my lifetime and had no problem. What do you think?
What about marriage for homosexuals? Most Christians feel that marriage should just be between a man and a woman, but in reality marriage is only a word, and actually you only have to call a committed union between homosexuals anything you want, because all the homosexuals want are the same rights that married couples have in a committed relationship. It's just another Civil Rights question again. And I believe for homosexuals to insist on calling their committed relationship a marriage is a big mistake. What do you think?
What about adopting children by homosexuals? If homosexuals were to adopt children, the children would probably lose the father and mother role image that is common in nuclear families, although you'd still have the human role model image to follow. But this is also true if the adoption were made by single people as well, and some of the role models in nuclear families are not that great either. But I think that the biggest problem that Christians would have concerning this matter, would be that the adoptees could start emulating the life-style of their homosexual parents. But this would really be determined by what actually causes homosexuality? Is it environmentally caused, or is it genetically caused? What do you think?
ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE
In the Old Testament, homosexuality is definitely labeled as a sin (Lev 18:22), but as far as I can determine, God never explains why. I suspect that the reason in the beginning might be that anything that prevented the earth from being populated was a sin (Gen 1:28) and homosexuality obviously did that. Whether that reasoning could really be applied today, however. Is questionable. Nevertheless there could be other reasons why this activity might be a sin, but Scripture doesn't seem to reveal any other. Either you have to believe what God just says, which many people do, or you have to look for reasons as to why God says this, which some people need.
The Gospels do not condemn homosexuality specifically, but Jesus does say in the Gospels that
He was not going to change the law one iota. (Math 5:18). Now what does He really mean by this, the much of the law, if you read it (Lev 11-24), is rather archaic, and seemingly not meant for today's society. If this is the case, then Jesus probably was talking about the Spirit of the Law.
In the New Testament with most references to homosexuality, there is a question as to whether the
words are correctly translated or not, but in Romans 1:26-27 Paul definitely indicates that homosexuality is a sin, and for most Christians this is enough. But if homosexuality is caused genetically, doesn't it go against Paul's description of homosexuality as being unnatural? And I suspect it might be caused genetically in most cases, because who in their right mind would want to be homosexual with all the bigotry it invites around the world. Besides, who would be the victim here if this relationship is between 2 consenting and caring adults? Would God be the victim, and feel it's sinful, if His children aren't being hurt by this relationship?
Here again, one has to consider whether one should be obedient to what God literally says in His Book without question, or to question the "why" of the statement before being obedient to it. But an ideal couple in my opinion, would still be a man with a women, because biologically they think differently, and the mixture of their thinking would tend to make a couple more complete, plus the fact that they are still the only couple that can reproduce and develop a new generation.

The Work Of Christ - Contours Of Christian Theology
The book "The Work of Christ" by Robert Letham, which is also known as "Contours of Christian Theology", is a series of concise introductory textbook focused on the main themes of Christian theology, lucidly written and clearly presented.
Within this framework he explores the issues of Christ and the word of God, the nature and theories of atonement, and the cosmic and corporate dimensions of the meditorial kingship of Christ.
Background of the author
Robert Letham is a scholar as well as the minister of the gospel. He is formerly, a senior lecturer in Christian doctrine at London Bible College, is a pastor of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, Wilmington, Delaware.
Purpose of the Book
The passion for this book was born out of a puzzle to attend to some important issues and questions begin for answers in Christendom hence the title "Contours of Christian Theology" The work of Christ actually stands for the most significant realities we can ever face. Issues like, How can we know God? How can we have a right relationship with God? How can we be forgiven? Can we know what lies beyond the grave? How can the death of a man of 2,000 years ago help us today? How does our salvation intersect with the environmental crisis, with poverty and oppression and a host of problem in politics and business? And what does Jesus Christ have to do with it all? These are not questions on the periphery of life. They affect our destiny and that of the planet.
The Core Issue
According to Letham, the phrase 'work of Christ' seems a dry, ponderous expression to use of the heart of the Christian faith. Christ's death on the cross, his glorious resurrection, his startling message of the kingdom of God is all realities with dynamic power.
The person of Christ was central. We need the person of Christ and we need his work too. According to Campbell's theology, the basic premise was that God is love. In Jesus Christ there is a twofold movement. There is movement of God toward humanity in which His love and forgiveness are revealed together with his judgement on sin. Simultaneously, there is also a responding movement towards God whereby Christ in our humanity offers a perfect vicarious response to the love and judgement of God. Christ's work is no avail for us apart from participation in his person. Hence in the incarnation Christ unites himself with us taking our humanity into union with himself.
Thus, if Christ was not God he could not have revealed the father. If he was not human he could not represent us, nor could he have rendered human obedience, to God, nor suffered the penalty of divine justice of sin of human race. So Christ was and is who was and is in order to save us. We can say in the light of the above that incarnation and atonement perhaps are not only indispensable the one to the other; they are also mutually definitive.
One other issue is that Christ's death was a sacrifice as asserted in this book. Apparently, the church did recognise the centrality of the cross. The cross was not entirely eclipsed. The tree Christ's obedience repaired the tree of Adam's disobedience. This is a true submission. It was further asserted that the early church maintained that Christ's death was a ransom price to the devil. He was released from the devil's power by his resurrection, so ensuring the complete deliverance of his people. Christ resurrection and exaltation secured people salvation. This is true about the work of Christ.
However, there is need to examine two of the above statements. Christ was not at any time under devil's power but man. Jesus only surrendered his life in other to save man. Secondly, perhaps we can say that Christ's death was a ransom price to God and not to the devil. Man was reconciled back to God through the death of Christ. The blood of Jesus was the price that was shed for the remission of sin.
Consequently, the atonement is seen as the work of God. God himself came into this world in Jesus Christ. The father handed him over to Satan. Satan fell into the trap, thinking he has Christ in his grasp. Christ's divinity, however concealed by humanity, enabled him to overpower Satan and to rise from the dead, thus destroying him who he had the power of death; Thus human beings are free from Satan's power and Satan himself is now subject to death and condemnation.
The doctrine of election is another important issue in this book. Perhaps the major bone of contention is the centrality of Jesus Christ in election as asserted by Paul and some scholars Charles Hodge, Louis Berkhof. Paul stated that we were chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world (Ephe 1:4). According to Karl Berth and J.K.S. Reid, Christ is merely the exhibitor of a decision already made in an eternity.
However, Calvin described Christ as the mirror of election, So that if we wanted to know if we were elected we should look no further than him. Aminus reacting against the rationalistic supralapsarianism of his teacher, Theodore Beza, recast the doctrine of election along Christocentric lines. God first elects Christ as the foundation of election. Then decree to save all that repent and believe, and finally to damming all who are impenitent. Election for Aminus was on the basis of God's foreknowledge of our faith. His views were rejected as the Synod of Dort.
Letham thus, asserted that our entire salvation is received in Christ, election included. Union with Christ is existent at the point of our election in eternity.
From the forgoing, perhaps one can simply submit that Christ and election are something inseparable. Thus Christ is central to the Biblical doctrines of both covenant and election.
The topic 'kingdom of God' has been the subject of lively debate. The expression 'kingdom of heaven' is peculiar to Mathew but he does also use 'kingdom of God'. According to Letham, a comparison of the usage of the two terms, however, shows no subtle distinctions between them. What Mathew's phrase may demonstrate is that the focus is not on a realm in which rule is exercised but on the reign which God himself has over the world. Secondly, the preponderance of references is to the kingdom belonging to the father or simply to God. What did Jesus mean when he said the kingdom of God is at hand? Jesus claims that the whole period of preparation had now come to fruition. The kingdom of God was not merely near. It was a present reality.
He said further that Jesus talked of the appearance of the kingdom of God in power as a definite future event. Again, many of Jesus' parables tell of the kingdom coming as the result of a long and imperceptible process of growth. Thus, it appears that Jesus understood the kingdom of God as a powerful demonstration of the rule of God, in line with Old Testament of his coming to deliver his people. In another sense, the end of the world would finally make clear all that is implied in the reality of the kingdom.
What then is the kingdom of God? It is nothing less than the reign of God in human affairs. This reign of God extends across the whole gamut of human life. Thus, the ethics of the kingdom certainly impinge on the inner life of human beings.
The humanity of Jesus Christ is another major issue that calls for attention. Jesus did not assume the nature of angels but human nature (John 1:1-3, 14). Thus our union with Christ is grounded on his union with us. Christ union with us took place in his incarnation. Perhaps we can say that without incarnation, there could be no salvation. Only a human being could atone for the sin of humanity.
Summary and Concluding Remarks
The work of Christ by Robert Letham, though concise is clearly written and comprehensive. He employed the views of many great scholars hence presented a balance argument. However, Letham spoke about the threefold office of Jesus Christ: prophet, priest, and king. He said further that since Jesus Christ did not claim any of these offices for himself, then to speak of Christ in terms of the offices is a serious mistake. I wouldn't know what he actually meant by the statement, but I think the statement might not be completely true because Jesus manifested or operated all the offices as a fulfilment of the Scriptures. It is true that Jesus did not claim them but he did operate in all the offices, so it is not claiming the title that matters but rather fulfilling the Scriptures or manifesting them hence the title is not as important as the title owner.
Another point made by Letham that raises concern is the issue of the payment of ransom price to the devil and the release of Jesus Christ from the devil's power by his resurrection. Was the ransom paid to the devil or to God? Perhaps it will be more appropriate to say that the ransom was paid to God rather than devil and that man was under the power of the devil but not Jesus. When man sinned, he fell from grace to the hand of the devil. When Christ died, he reconciled man back to God, thus delivered man from the power of the devil. Devil has got nothing to take back, he was a robber, the owner desire a ransom and hence Jesus Christ paid it to God.
Finally, it is certainly true that this book would be enormous and the reader would be bankrupted paying for it, if every subject is discussed in detail. However, the book has being able to present a clear understanding of what Christ has done. Thus I want to submit that Christ came, died and resurrected with the intent of atoning for his elect, while the worth and scope of his atonement is sufficient for each and every person who ever lived. This of course remained the central focus of this great noble work of Robert Letham.

A Beka Home School
With the growing popularity of home schooling, more and more styles and packages of homeschooling systems are entering the market. The upside is that parents who have decided to home school their children now have a lot more options and support material to choose from. The down side is that there is almost too much material for parents to go through and understanding the complexities of each option is difficult and makes deciding what course to follow more of a challenge. One popular choice is the A Beka home school which has developed by the Pensacola Christian College in Florida.
The A Beka curriculum is Christian based with the aim of educating children in the values of the faith. It is very comprehensive in nature and very highly structured and is best for families who want the home schooling to be done around a formally structured framework. There are three different program options available.
1. The A Beka Academy DVD program is a set of workbooks and accompanying DVDs that contain class room lectures that, as in regular classroom lectures, expand and clarify the material contained in the workbooks. This Program offers two options. This Program is completely accredited and is aimed at preparing students for college all work done by the student is sent to A Beka which maintains all records of a students work for purposes of grading, certification etc. The other option offers the same material but in this case all records are kept by the parents and it is a non accredited program. Since A Beka is not involved in record keeping, the second option costs less.
2. The A Beka Academy Traditional Parent-Directed option is the same, but minus the DVDs. This is also a college preparatory program that is wholly accredited and that replaces the DVDs with detailed guides that explain to the parents how approach the syllabus. This allows more flexibility to the parents in how they approach various subjects. The parents send in all the work done by the children to A Beka who does the grading and also issues report cards - that are quite like a regular school, only everything happens from the home. The program operates on an academic year basis and parents are provided with regular updates on the children's progress.
3. The Text Books and Materials for Home Schooling provides only the curriculum and A Beka has no further role to play. All records are kept by the parents who evaluate the children's performance and progress and since there is no academic year, parents can allow the children to learn at a pace that meets their individual requirements. Parents are free to order just parts of the program covering specific subject and combine what A Beka provides with other curricula from other sources.
If you are looking for a Christian based way of education, the A Beka home school program offers a well structured program that creates a strong foundation in subjects like reading, writing and mathematics and sets highs standards for children to meet through their schooling years. Although the A Beka system is more expensive that many other Christian home school programs, its popularity attests the standards it sets.

4 Steps to Let Go of Denial - Christian Relationship Help
Are you looking for Christian relationship help? This article offers 4 steps to let go of denial. A friend of mine complained that her college daughter didn't act responsibly while in Hawaii on her parent-paid vacation. The expectation was that she would call home regularly and not get into trouble. She didn't call home and she got into trouble. Her parents were disappointed, shocked, upset, and angry that they had given her the trip.
The real problem was the parents' expectation. They wanted to give their daughter a graduation trip, but they did it by denying what they knew to be true about their daughter. They so desperately wanted her to act how they wanted her to act that they denied what they knew to be true. Had they faced the truth, they could have decided if they wanted to give her the trip anyway, knowing that she would probably do the same things over there she did at home. They could have spared themselves the betrayal, anger, shock, and disappointment.
Denial is like a cushion that softens the landing on a fall. We can't take the impact of the truth, so we cushion ourselves from having to face the truth by believing something else. Denial is protective. When we first find out something that is too painful, we deny it is true. This is okay for a short time. We have to allow ourselves time to adjust. It is similar to the body going into shock to not feel pain when it is first injured. But in order to heal, there is a time that you have to feel the pain of facing the truth.
When we refuse to accept what we know to be true, we set ourselves and others up to be disappointed and angry, so there is a price to pay for staying in denial. Here are 4 steps to let go of denial:
1. Identify why it is difficult to face. Are you afraid, angry, blaming yourself, embarrassed, or feeling out of control? Deal with the underlying emotion.
2. Expose yourself to the facts, so you will have to see all of the evidence.
3. Ask God to show you what you need revealed in order to accept the truth.
4. Embrace the principle that the truth will set you free (John 8:32), even though right now it feels like the opposite.
Relationship Prayer: God, help me to have the courage to let go of denial. Show me what I need to know to embrace the truth.
Relationship Challenge: Let go of your denial by using the suggestions in this article, so you will not set yourself up by having unreasonable expectations.
Applying the four steps in this Christian relationship help will enable you to let go of denial in your difficult relationships.

Note
Some call pulpits "along the way." Secondly, they figurehead but what do you call it, all these churches - somewhere.
You can connect outside the front of the church, its nature, the Church of the first issue of 'mass contact "with people in this community. They can be placed in different positions within the church, so that those inside the building, information about the activities taking place there - and probably ahead of other churchesArea.
Christianity - as any creed or system of values - is mediated mainly through personal contacts. However, notices are impersonal. It follows then that requires them more wisely if it is to be effective and achieve their goal.
Those responsible for the production or research notices, which must decide to go on these boards:
· Cover What should be the poster / ads?
If they make statements to stimulate philosophical and theological reflection and evoke a positive reaction (such as "Show"), or explain the activities should go to church?
• What is the bulletin board of the target?
And 'to show, for example, that the theological position of the particular Church? Is it the intention of the faithful who attend services there, or those just passing interest? He must try to win non-believers, the faithful in church, which has become - or at any church? Its mission is to stimulate and challenge to induce> Christians, agnostics, atheists, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs and so on? As a "professional" not you advertise? Some people, like the professional approach, while other "amateur look" approach is not in danger and therefore more attractive.
There are no "right" or "wrong" answers to these questions. However, the answers to each question to determine how and why they make posters and notices on these boards.
If your personal posters? If you buy ready made posters - for example,Christian Publicity Organisation (CPO)? If you are the designer Commission / poster artist specially for you?
Again, your answers will depend on your budget and what message are you trying to convey - and to whom.
But, unlike Paul, the pulpit on the way / communications can not be 'all things to all people. "
